How is a BOP Different from General Liability insurance?

When it comes to insuring your business, there are numerous options to consider. Luckily, with the help of your independent insurance agent, the job doesn’t have to be daunting. But while we have your attention right here, let’s look at the differences between two of the most common business insurance policies.
Business owner
General Liability Insurance

This type of insurance is typically not required, but it is recommended for all businesses—big and small. It protects your business from incidents of injuries or property damages suffered by non-employees that can be tied back to your business. For instance, a customer may slip and fall on a spill in your store, leading to expensive medical bills.

General liability insurance can offer funds to cover medical bills and other damages, along with your legal fees and settlements. Just one of these instances may be a big enough blow to rock the financial stability of your business, so protect it today against what you can’t control in future.

Business Owner’s Policy

A business owner’s policy, called a BOP for short, goes much further than just liability coverage. This is a bundle package that combines several coverage options into one convenient, comprehensive policy. In addition to general liability coverage, a BOP may also include property coverage, equipment breakdown coverage and much more.

These policies are fully customizable, so you get the coverage your business needs without overpaying for unnecessary coverage. However, commercial auto insurance and workers compensation insurance are often sold separately.

Need to get coverage for your business? We’re happy to help you find the best fitting policy.

Get started today. Call our independent agency for more information on business insurance.
